At GoTo, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities and empowering our employees to contribute through GoTo Gives, our philanthropy and volunteering program. As 2024 draws to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on the meaningful contributions we have made to non-profit organizations worldwide. From Guatemala City to Boston to Budapest, our volunteers have been actively engaged in making a difference. This year, over 40 global volunteer days were completed through GoTo Gives, highlighting our commitment to service.
In honor of Giving Tuesday — a global day of generosity that inspires people and organizations to transform their communities — we spoke with three passionate GoGetters: Jeff, MJ, and Orsolya on what giving back means to them and how their volunteer efforts have enriched their work lives.

I believe that volunteering enhances human wellbeing, and it helps meet basic and complex needs depending on each situation, which to me is very important to make sure I am contributing to the world and more significantly to my country. It is a very positive way to show others you care, and you want to help! Guatemala is a country that faces high poverty rates, lacking access to basic needs like food, healthcare, and education and I know that my contribution to my community is valuable, and it supports the ones in need. I know that GoTo cares about our mental health and wellbeing and as an employee I find this an excellent way to feel proud of what we do for our communities and feel proud of the place we work. This is very important to me, as I love being part of a company that supports those in need and invites us to contribute anyway we can.

Working at GoTo has been more than the work life balance, which I love, but also about giving back. Growing up I was able to help a small community, my hometown, since we were all close knit. With GoTo Gives, I find myself at home. If I’m able to, I make sure to sign up for the volunteer events here in Boston. Some of my favorite days are at Cradles to Crayons, where we pack boxes/kits of essentials for children within the Boston area. Others are at the Food Bank and St. Francis Homeless Shelter, where we would make meal boxes for families throughout Boston - this really brings me back to making care packages in high school when I was in Interact Club. The list goes on with how much GoTo Gives has impacted me in continuing to volunteer. As soon as that email comes out with upcoming events, I try to sign up before it fills up!

It’s important for me to give something back to society. GoTo’s WE@GoTo ERG, dedicated in supporting women+ at our company, recently partnered with GoTo Gives and completed a virtual volunteer event on financial literacy because we feel it’s important for people to be aware that so many young girls and women don’t have access to the proper resources but have the spirit to succeed. It was great we were able to find a workshop where we could give back to those in need in our community. It was extra special that our Interim CFO, Nick Asadorian, volunteered with us. Being able to lend his financial knowledge and having leadership visibility into the great work WE@GoTo and GoTo Gives is doing to give back was so impactful. The other ERG Leaders and I work hard behind the scenes to make sure the work we do benefits our communities, and it was great we were able to volunteer for such a great cause.
